Kim Sargent-Wishart

Kim Sargent-Wishart is nearing completion of her PhD in Performance Studies at Victoria University. She holds a BA with honours in Dance from Wesleyan University, professional certification as a Body-Mind Centering® practitioner, and is an internationally registered Somatic Movement Educator (RSME). Her doctoral research explores the dynamics of creative activity with a focus on narratives of embryology and art-making, and is based in practices of somatics, dance improvisation, Tibetan Buddhism, Miksang photography, and dance/filmmaking. She is interested in how embodied experience meets the pedestrian world through movement, image, perception, and art-making. Kim’s choreographic and film work have been presented at various venues in the United States and Australia.
